About the Artist

Welcome to my world of art glass!

My name is Anna Smilyanskaya, and I create one-of-a-kind stained glass lamps and illuminated glass artworks from my own original designs. Every piece begins with an idea, takes shape as a hand-drawn sketch, and is carefully crafted by me using the traditional Tiffany copper foil technique.

For me, stained glass is more than a material—it's a way to work with light itself. I love watching how color, texture, and illumination come together to create atmosphere, turning an everyday object into something that feels alive.

Inspired by Nature

My inspiration comes from nature. Forests, moonlight, flowers, birds, and changing seasons all find their way into my work. Rather than copying what already exists, I transform these impressions into original designs that reflect my own artistic vision.

The Creative Process

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with patience and attention to detail. I personally select every sheet of glass, looking not only at its color but also at the way it interacts with light. Every cut, every piece of copper foil, every soldered joint is completed by hand. When a lamp is finally illuminated for the first time, it is still one of my favorite moments in the creative process.

From Architecture to Glass Art

My artistic journey began long before I started working with stained glass. I graduated as an architect, a profession that taught me to understand form, proportion, and the relationship between light and space. Over time, my passion led me toward glass art, where I discovered the freedom to combine artistic expression with craftsmanship.

Art stained glass school

Since 2015, I have dedicated myself to creating original stained glass artworks and teaching the Tiffany technique to students who share my passion for this unique art form.

Exhibitions

My work has been featured in more than 10 solo exhibitions and over 50 group exhibitions, reflecting years of artistic practice and a commitment to original design.

Today I continue creating every artwork myself—from the first sketch to the final signature.

When you choose one of my pieces, you're not simply bringing home a lamp. You're welcoming an original work of art, created to fill your home with warmth, color, quiet beauty, and light.
